Car Shows
If you want to see custom cars, then all you need to do is
attend some car shows! This is where the fun is!
All of the hard work that goes into building custom cars can
be easily seen at an auto show. It's exciting for me to even
think about the next show that I plan to attend!
An auto show is basically
an event where car enthusiasts gather to show off their latest work in
customizing or restoring their car(s) or trucks. These events
usually take place in a large open parking lot, or even a grass field.
Parking lots are preferred for these events since grassy
fields tend to produce a lot of dust that will get all over your
detailed (clean) car, but if you have the proper "duster" to get the
dust off of your ride, then you can easily deal with or overlook the
dust that has found its way onto your car.
Car show events also
feature lots of activities and music is always heard! The
music tends to change with each type of auto show depending on the
theme of the show, or the era of vehicles on display.
What are the different
types of shows?
There are many different
types of car show events, but I will do my best to describe the major
types. For instance, most auto shows will fall into one of
these categories:
- Classic Car
and Truck Show-which is a show that will generally
only feature cars that were produced before the year of 1970 and can
have cars that are both customized or restored. Some Classic
Car and truck Show examples include:
Good
Guys Rod and Custom Show '07
- Antique Car
and Truck Show- will feature cars that are very old (pre
1930) and are usually not customized, but instead restored to their
original condition. See the show below for an example of an
antique car and truck show:
- Cruise-In
isn't necessarily an actual show, but is more of a gathering of people
and their cars, from any generation, at a local hangout, park, or
street. Awards are not given at cruise-ins since these are not
competitions, but just hanging out with car enthusiasts: Check out the
cruise in below:
